Job Overview

Mackenzie Fit Recruitment offers work as a Factory Operative in sorting and packaging fresh and smoked Salmon on production lines.

This role involves assisting with the production process, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and supporting the smooth operation of our facilities. The ideal candidate will be organised, attentive to detail, be disciplined with good time keeping and positive, can-do attitude.

  • £12.21 per hour plus £18.32 per hour for overtime after 40 hours

Shifts

FULL-TIME

06:00 – 18:30 on shift 2-2-3, (Week 1: Sunday off, Monday and Tuesday working, off on Wednesday and Thursday, then Friday and Saturday working. Week 2: Working Sunday, Monday and Tuesday off, Wednesday and Thursday off, Friday and Saturday off.) The schedule is given for the whole year from above.

PART-TIME

From Monday to Friday 18:30 – 22:30 (20 hours per week)

NIGHT SHIFT HYGIENE:

Shift 2-2-3 as above only 18:00 – 06:30, night allowance + £1.40/hour

Duties

  • Collect and transport waste materials from designated locations to appropriate disposal sites.
  • Operate waste management machinery and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Perform routine inspections of waste containers and equipment for maintenance needs.
  • Assist in sorting recyclable materials from construction waste to promote sustainability efforts.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Report any incidents or hazards encountered during operations to the supervisor.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge to operate and troubleshoot waste management equipment effectively.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required, ensuring safe handling of waste materials.
  • Excellent attention to detail for maintaining cleanliness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Good communication skills to work efficiently with team members and supervisors.

  • Possibility of contracting after 12 weeks
